This Japanese variety show is hosted by the Japanese comedy duo, Downtown. With the Japanese version, Silent Library is a segment of a popular show in Japan, “No Gaki No Tsukai Ya Arahende.” Translated, that is “This is no task for kids”. The contestants win money each time they complete a challenge without making any noise. There are three rounds, each round increasing in money worth. The contestants then go to their table to start the game. Second, the beginning starts off with the Host, Zero Kazama, introducing the contestants and telling the viewers about the game. ![]() MTV adapted it from the Japanese version to make it an American game show. In the American version, the differences are clearly seen. The different structure of both shows illustrates how the cultures are diverse. Silent Library, however, isn’t the same in both the American version and the Japanese version due to the differences in the shows structures. However, it is seen to be practically impossible. The idea of it all is to complete the task without making any noise. The person that draws the card with the skull and crossbones on it will, without a doubt, endure some type of punishment involving physical or psychological pain that must be completed. You all turn over a card at the same time. The rules in silent library are basically you are in a library with 5 other friends. An example of a popular show would be Silent Library.
